Mini-Grid
Mini-grids are small power grids that are powered by a source and independent of any other power grid.
Their size varies from 10 kW to 10 MW, so they can power a village of a few houses up to a town of a few thousand inhabitants.
They are the optimal solution for accessing energy in places that are too far from the national electricity grid and where the population density is high enough to benefit from a collective solution. Useful for lighting and home applications, they can meet commercial and industrial needs, such as powering cold storage or supermarkets.
According to the World Bank, mini-grids can provide electricity to 500 million people by 2030.
If you need technical skills to develop your mini-grid project, don’t hesitate to contact our team!
OffgridSun can support the engineering of the project in addition to providing the technical components, solar panels, storage units, along with smart meters. So, you can perfectly monitor electricity production and consumption for better grid stability.
